What is the First Steps Discipleship Program?

First Steps is a three-phase discipleship program that provides resources to the local church to fulfill the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19-20, specifically that of teaching new believers. The phases for this program are as follows:
* Phase 1 -- Basic Development
* Phase 2 -- Bible Doctrine (now available)
* Phase 3 -- Beneficial Direction (available soon)
Scroll down to the pages below and view a layout of how each phase works.

First Steps Phase 1

John 10:27 "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:"

6 Lessons are listed as steps which new believers take in their walk with Christ. This phase can be accomplished in a small classroom setting.

Step #1: Understanding my decision to receive Christ as my personal Savior.
Step #2: Getting my new life started right by following Christ in baptism.
Step #3: Finding comfort in a meaningful relationship with my Heavenly Father (prayer and Bible reading).
Step #4: Gaining victory over sin and temptation.
Step #5: Realizing the importance of the local church.
Step #6: Taking the gospel to my friends and family.

First Steps Phase 2

Colossians 2:6-7a "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith…"

9 Doctrinal Lessons are given whereby a disciple in Christ can learn what is needed to guide them in their Christian walk. The following lessons have been chosen as a part of phase 2 and are best accomplished when a mentor is selected to take the young convert "under his wing".

#1: The Bible: What is it all about?
#2: God: What is He like?
#3: Jesus Christ: Why is He so important?
#4: The Holy Spirit: What does He do?
#5: Sin and Satan: What is my position to these enemies of my soul?
#6: Salvation: What does it mean?
#7: Man: What is his makeup?
#8: The Church: What is its function?
#9: The End Times: What will happen in the future?

First Steps Phase 3

Colossians 1:10-11 "That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;"

9 Practical Lessons are designed to allow a disciple in Christ to independently grow in their relationship with Christ by building off of the doctrinal study in the previous phase and cause them to be "fruitfull" in their Christian walk. The following lessons have been chosen as a part of phase 3 and are intended to be more of a self-study.
